Vanessa Medina, P-LCSW

Vanessa was born and raised in Taos, NM. She was adopted at age 11 after being in foster care. This led to her passion to pursue a career to help serve families and children and inspired her to become a social worker. Vanessa attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM, where she received a Bachelor of Political Science: Law Emphasis; a Bachelor of Social Work and went on to pursue a clinical graduate degree, Master of Social Work, where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Vanessa’s work experience is in the field of child welfare where she has served families for 8 years. Vanessa has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Vanessa has vast experience in childhood trauma and has a wealth of knowledge working with families who have adopted children who are survivors of trauma and abuse. Vanessa’s approach is very holistic, where she implements mind, body, and spirit. Vanessa is passionate about engaging with individuals to achieve their mental health goals, while creating a safe and serene environment. Vanessa’s hobbies include learning and growing as a person and clinician, as well as traveling and taking her dogs for car rides.

Meet Rochelle:
Rochelle Robertson was born and raised in Albuquerque, and she is a proud native of the city. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in cello performance from the University of New Mexico in 2006. Rochelle has always been passionate about music and using it to connect with and help others. She has over 20 years of experience working with people of all ages, providing private cello lessons. After completing her undergraduate studies, Rochelle decided to pursue her passion for helping others and enrolled in a master's program in Counseling at Webster University. She graduated in 2010 and is now a licensed mental health counselor. Rochelle specializes in working with children and families in crisis and has experience working as an MST certified therapist. Rochelle believes that every individual is unique, and that no two therapy experiences will be the same. She believes that patience and understanding are key to the success of the therapeutic process. Rochelle strives to get to know each of her clients, to understand their individual situations, and to develop a therapeutic plan that fits their specific needs. She uses modalities such as Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy to help her clients better understand themselves, tap into their strengths and weaknesses, and build self-confidence. Aside from her work as a therapist, Rochelle is also a devoted mother to two wonderful children, a 9-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying active through exercise, and playing her beloved cello.

Early life experiences can shape us in profound ways. For Justyce, growing up in northern New Mexico, navigating childhood trauma, body image struggles, and eating disorders, ultimately led her down the path of mental health advocacy. Her mission is to help clients heal from their own traumatic experiences, drawing on her deep understanding of pain and resilience. With a master's degree in social work from New Mexico Highlands University, Justyce has also become certified in mindfulness-based stress reduction and is diligently working towards her yoga teaching certification. This unique combination of education and personal growth tools allows her to offer clients a diverse range of skills to facilitate their healing. Justyce takes a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy, recognizing that every individual is unique. Her toolbox includes mind/body interventions, somatic release techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and inner child work. Heidi has an extensive work history in behavioral health. She is a clinician with experience in addictions, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. Heidi has worked in residential treatment, outpatient, intensive outpatient, inpatient treatment, and community-based care. Her roles have been in direct care, management, and upper management. As a therapist Heidi practices trauma-informed, mindfulness-based approaches. She has worked with adults and children and is currently an adjunct professor at UNM.

Danielle grew up in New York and received her Bachelor's degree in Studio Art. In 2017 she moved to New Mexico for Graduate school, and graduated from Southwestern College in 2021 with a dual Master's in Art Therapy and Counseling. Danielle’s therapeutic practice is deeply rooted in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space, where clients may feel comfortable to express and explore their authentic selves. Danielle has experience working with multicultural communities, volunteering in schools along with various settings in other countries, working to support youth and their families thrive. As a first generation American, Danielle understands the hardships that often accompany that unique identity.
